In Banjo class, we follow a semiformal curriculum. Our learning is planned using a thematic approach, so we link our learning to a topic where appropriate. We plan activities which are relevant and engaging for our students; we like to be active, and use practical resources to aid our learning.
Communication and Independence are key skills which are at the forefront of what we do. We encourage our students to be as independent as they can be in the classroom and in school by giving them responsibilities and teaching them the skills they need to be successful in this skill. We help children to communicate by providing the means they need, such as using communication books and devices, the use of symbols or Makaton.
